Another Nollywood Beauty Queen Resigns After The Dethronement of Her Colleague (Photos)

Following the much publicized dethronement of Former Miss Nollywood Culture and Tourism Grace Okoro Adaeze, Her senior colleague and the current Miss Nollywood 2016 Miss Blessing Ogar has also resigned today.

The Now ex beauty queen resigned siting the unfair treatment meted out to her dethroned colleague while also alleging that the organization which she was representing has defaulted in the various arrangements they agreed to pursue while demanding that she collaborate the lies the leveled against her dethroned colleague.

In her resignation letter made available to Lailasblog, She alleged that the organization has defaulted on their previous agreements and defaulted in availing her of her entitlements as Miss Nollywood 2016 and have already started advertising for a new queen while they are yet to pay her the prize money. She also alleged that the organizers of the pageant mandated her to collaborate the lies and allegations they leveled against the dethroned queen. a mandate which she says was against her conscience. She stated that she had better resigned because the organization would also dethrone her if she refuse to collaborate their lies.

Graphic photos from scene of failed bullion van robbery in Port Harcourt

It was the end of the road for some armed robbers who attempted to rob a bullion van along stadium road, Ellekahia in Port-Harcourt, Rivers state, as they met their Waterloo this afternoon after being gunned down by soldiers.

Two other members of the gang were also arrested. It was a bloody afternoon indeed.

The individuals are linked to former Nigerian oil minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke in a wide range shady business dealings that illegally transferred Nigerian oil assets to them and their companies.

Ex-Miss Turkey sentenced to 1 year in prison for ‘insulting' Turkish president on social media

A Turkish court Tuesday found a former Miss Turkey beauty queen guilty of insulting President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on social media, handing her a suspended sentence of over one year in jail.

The Istanbul court sentenced model Merve Buyuksarac, 27, to one year and two months in prison for “publicly insulting” Erdogan in a satirical poem she posted on her Instagram account, the Dogan news agency reported.

The punishment has been suspended, it added, without giving further details.

The “Master's Poem” — which was shared by the model while Erdogan was serving as prime minister — criticises the Turkish president with verses adapted from the national anthem.

Erdogan, who was elected president in August 2014 after serving as prime minister for more than a decade, is often called “Buyuk Usta” (the Big Master).

Hatice Ozay, Erdogan's lawyer, told the court that the model's posts on social media cannot be considered criticism but rather was an “attack against my client's personal rights.”

Buyuksarac won the Miss Turkey competition in 2006 and has since worked as a model as well as appearing on reality TV shows.

After being briefly detained in January 2015, she admitted to sharing the poem which had been printed in a Turkish satirical magazine but said she did not want to insult the president.

Osita 'Paw Paw' Iheme opens up about marriage, reveals why he's still single

Nollywood actor, Osita Iheme, alias PawPaw has responded to allegations that he and his ‘twin’ in the industry, Chinedu Ikedieze alias Aki, are having some misunderstanding which sprung up after the latter got married, even as he addressed the issue of his continuous state of bachelorhood.

Pawpaw is still enjoying life as a bachelor when colleague and close friend, Chinedu Ikedieze, also known as Aki, has been married for over six years. There had been speculations that the duo are at loggerheads as they haven’t been seen together in movies and social gatherings ‘as usual’.

Denying the reports, the Imo state-born pint sized actor told the Sun, “There is nothing really going on between us. There is no movie to feature both of us so we have been doing our stuff separately. If any producer wants us together in his movie, then we shall do it as usual.”

When asked why he is still enjoying life as a bachelor when Aki has been married for over six years, Pawpaw said he was taking his time.

He said,

“Marriage is not a step to be taken because other people are taking it.

“Even if the person is your twin, you don’t have to do it just because he did it. It is something you do when you are ready. I’ll take that step when I’m fully ready,” the 33-year-old comic actor stated.

After several miscarriages, actor Charles Onojie and wife Obehi welcome 2nd child

Nollywood actor and producer Charles Onojie and his wife Obehi welcomed their second child, a baby girl on Wednesday, May 25 in Decatur, Georgia, US.

The couple who got married on November 2012 in Benin City named the child Onoseta.

Obehi shared the happy news on Instagram, recalling the difficulties she encountered before finally conceiving. She shared it to encourage those experiencing difficulty conceiving.

God is wonderful, he blessed me with another beautiful baby 2 days ago, he made it possible for me to sing a new song again, our God is good!

When you are waiting on the Lord for something good to happen, please don't give up, He will surely answer you. I never knew what it meant to wait on the Lord until he taught me how. Since my first daughter became a year old, I have been praying for another baby, it took quiet a long time before it happened.

During that time, I was worried, delayed periods meant miscarriages to me, my mum wasn't helping matters, "Obehi is old enough to have a sibling, what are you waiting for? Born them sharp sharp, make you rest once" she had no idea what I was going through, I prayed and prayed, cried and cried, then it happened.

My period was a week late but I was too scared to confirm my status, then I tried my ovulation test kit, it gave me a smiley face ☺ I shouted and rushed off to tell hubby, he said calm down, take this money, he was just giving me a lot of money that morning 😂😂 neither of us knew how much, he told me to go to the nearest clinic for confirmation, as I was driving down, my heart start to beat, I said to myself, I should ve been quiet about this, what if I just raised hubby's hope for nothing?

God reassured me that because He is King over all, everything is beautiful. As soon as my result came out of the lab, my eyes automatically became xrays, I scanned through the paper in the nurse's hand from afar and I saw *positive* I asked her from where I was sitting, "positive abi? " she said yes.

Ha mo'gbe o, I screamed the whole clinic down and hugged her so tight, I gave the nurse money to buy lunch for herself and the rest of her colleagues. You see, when we take in easily, we don't know what God has done for us, until we start to hear stories of how many women, are trying hard for the same thing you got so easily.

Always be grateful, no matter what, your morning will surely come, keep believing, your testimony will come. All the challenges I had during this pregnancy are long forgotten since my bundle of joy arrived, thank u Lord"

Monster alligator alarms golfers as it casually strolls across the course (photos)

There is nothing unusual about seeing a hazard on a golf course, but one playing group were given a particular fright by an enormous alligator casually strolled across the course during play.

The dinosaur-like gator looked even bigger when another man came into the frame to take a picture - but apparently he is quite a regular sight in the area.

'People people have heard that he is out here and that is all they want to see so they will bring spectators to ride so somebody can get a picture,' golf course employee Wendy Schofield told News 3.

'He doesn't bother anybody and they don't bother him, he's like a mascot for the course, which is owned by Manatee County.'

'He has been here for a very, very long time, he's not new at all.

'There have been guesses that he's 15 to 16 feet long.

'The word has spread that this is a great place to come and play. He is the highlight, but we are worth the price too.'

Katy Perry's Twitter account gets hacked, hacker posts NSFW tweets to her 89million followers

Twitter’s top user and pop superstar Katy Perry was hacked on Monday, with her account sending abusive tweets to her 89 million followers and reportedly leaking an unreleased song.

The tweets removed from Perry’s account page, the most followed on Twitter, sent anti-gay messages to users and a “miss u baby” message to the singer’s arch rival, Taylor Swift among others.

The hacked account signed off with a tweet telling users to “haha follow @sw4ylol #hackersgonnahack”, who appears to have claimed responsibility for the hack. Lol

11 miscarriages in four years: a father cursed his daughters using witchcraft

The love between a man and his wife turned ugly in epic proportions which led to his cursing their two children after he accused her of being unfaithful in their marriage- and caused the hapless girls eleven miscarriages in four years

According to the Star, Bernard Theuri from Maua, Meru county cursed his two daughters on May 2, 2012, claiming that they were not his biological children.

“He threw dust at them and made his declaration. Since then, my two daughters cannot carry a pregnancy to term. This has forced their husbands to separate from them,” said Ruth Mwakachiu, his former wife.

Mwakachiu further explained that the curse made one of her girls miscarry seven times and another four times in her second daughter.

“The curse did not befall my third daughter because I was still pregnant with her at the time,” added Mwakachiu.

In four years, the girls lost a total of eleven children.

Mother and daughters were later kicked out of their home by Theuri who later demanded his dowry back as they were married under customary law. He got it back through the clan elders.

The family drama ended up in court after Theuri was excommunicated from his clan in May 22, 2012 for cursing his children.

He was in court yesterday, Monday, May 30 suing three clan elders; Henry Taitumu, Stanley Mutura and Robert Mutuma who sent a letter to Njuri Ncheke about his removal from any congregation with the intent to defame him.

“He also wants the court to lift his excommunication but two clan elders said he cannot use the courts to lift the ban unless he paid the traditional fines for placing a curse,” published the Star on Tuesday, May 31.

Theuri is supposed to pay with a bull to lift the excommunication and a he-goat to reverse the curse.

While not many believe in it, black magic has been known to be used in a number of purposes.

As is popular in most Kenyan towns, practitioners of the dark arts advertise their services on how they use witchcraft to restore love, lost love, sexual ability, finances and a number of other reasons.

Woman, 46, commits suicide in Enugu forest after testing positive to HIV

Doctors always encourage HIV positive people that their status is not the end of their life, but for one woman, learning of her HIV positive status marked the end of the road for her as she went to the bush and took her own life in a tragic fashion.

The 46-year-old woman, identified as Celestina Mamah from Udenu Local Government Area of Enugu state went to a forest and stabbed herself to death after learning about her status.

Police investigation shows that the victim had left her home on May 28 at about 6pm and headed to a forest near Ogwu Rest House in Udenu Local Government Area of the state where she allegedly committed suicide.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Enugu state police command, DSP Ebere Amaraizu confirmed that the woman allegedly tested positive to HIV after a test at a nearby hospital.

Her corpse was found the following day at about 11am.
