Housewife Loses Pregnancy After Policeman Assaulted Her

A 37-year-old woman, Mrs Risikat Bamidele, has lost her pregnancy after a Divisional Police Officer in charge of Kemta Idi-Aba Police Headquarters in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, allegedly brutalised her. The DPO, identified as CSP Samuel, was said to have assaulted the woman on Saturday night for “daring to make a phone call” in his presence.

The incident occurred barely two weeks after the Inspector- General of Police, Solomon Arase, warned officers and men of the state police command against unprovoked assault on innocent civilians. Speaking with our correspondent on her hospital bed at the State Hospital, Ijaiye, Abeokuta, Mrs Bamidele said she lost her nine-week-old pregnancy owing to the torture received from the DPO.

The victim, who is a non teaching staff member of Catholic Comprehensive High School at Onikolobo, Abeokuta, disclosed that she was at the police station in respect of a matter involving her husband, Tunde Bamidele. Writhing in pain, Bamidele explained that she wanted to put a call across to her brother- in-law when the police chief descended on her with repeated slaps and jabs. According to her, the DPO later ordered her detention which was effected by a junior police officer.

She said: “When I got to the police station, my husband gave me his phone that I should call his brother. When I was calling, I just saw one man; I never knew he is the DPO. He said ‘you are very silly, you are phoning after 8 (pm). You don’t know we don’t phone here after 8 (pm)?’

“I apologised that I wasn’t aware I shouldn’t call even when other officers were there and they didn’t stop me.

“He forcibly took my phone and called a police officer to arrest me. They harassed me and pushed me and my husband had to rush out shouting ‘she is pregnant, don’t push her.’

That was when the man started slapping and shouting at me.” Bamidele added that she suffered serious stomach pains all through the night following the assault.

She said the police officers on duty could not come to her aid but her husband gave her some money to buy sanitary pad to stop the blood flow from her private part. The victim added that on Monday she was rushed to the hospital where doctors confirmed that her nine weeks’ old pregnancy had been aborted. Also, the husband said he was detained at the police station for daring to request for some money owed him by a building contractor.

Bamidele claimed that the contractor, whose name he simply gave as Bolaji, owed him and other colleagues N894,000 for the past 19 months He said: “Bolaji and I were taken to the station where we were both detained initially. Before we were detained, the DPO said we should write statements but I said I wasn’t ready to write any statement.

“When it was 7pm, my wife called me because I am a diabetic and an ulcer patient and she had to come to the station. When she came, I gave her my phone to call my brother and what I heard from inside was ‘bastard, go inside’, and she was detained. My clothes were removed, and they poured water on me and gave an instruction that I should be smoked with tear gas.”

Bamidele also accused the DPO of collecting N20,000 before releasing him and his wife on bail. When contacted yesterday, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said the matter had yet to be brought to the attention of the Commissioner of Police, Abdulmajid Ali.

Adejobi, however, said the affected couple should write a letter of complaint to the police commissioner. He promised that they would get justice. The PPRO said the command would not condone any act of brutality against innocent civilians.

Lol... See What This Woman Posted On Facebook (Photo)

A woman who allegedly duct taped her dog's mouth shut then bragged about it on social media has been charged with animal cruelty .

Katharine Lemansky, 44, sparked outrage after reportedly posting a photo on Facebook of her pet, named Brown, with the silver tape wrapped tightly around its mouth.

The image, uploaded on Friday, was accompanied by the caption: “This is what happens when you dont shut up!!! (sic)”

The post was reported to authorities in South Daytona, Florida, where the woman was thought to have lived under the name Katie Brown, the Daily News reported.

Cary Police Captain Randall Rhyne said: "Taping the dog’s muzzle shut was a terrible decision on Ms. Lemansky’s part, and charging her with animal cruelty under North Carolina law was the right thing to do."

The chocolate labrador mix appeared to be unharmed and all of Lemansky's dogs were "very well cared for", police said.

They need to come here and see what our Bingos are going through. Lol

As the drama continues with accusations of rape and mental torture, and counter-accusations of obsession and blackmail from both parties, an eye witness has come out to corroborate some of Sugabelly's version of events.

The twitter user with the username @urshitisout in a series of tweets described Mohammed Audu of being a serial rapist and woman beater.

On Kylie Jenner's Disturbing Photoshoot With Interview Magazine (Photos)

The youngest member of the Kardashian/Jenner clan, , 18 year old Kylie Jenner had a photoshoot for the December issue of the Interview magazine. When i beheld some of the photos, i was left scratching my head in puzzlement.

I have been asking myself what the essence of these so-called photoshoots are. This particular shoot is filled with a lot of strange and very dark symbolisms and inferences which leave plenty for the imagination to work on. Is it a wonder society is becoming more depraved when photos like these constantly bomb their way into our subconscious? What do these people hope to achieve with these kinds of disturbing and sexually suggestive images?

They call it #breaktheinternet, but what are we truly breaking? Our moral values?

Blog Reader Blasts SAMSUNG For Ripping Him Off

Good morning Mrs. Laila,

I want to bring to your notice Samsung Nigeria complete disregard for product warranty. I must admit when I initially contacted them through their email ngservice@samsung.com, they responded well and even sent one of their technician to my house to diagnose the fault of the TV. After the diagnosis, the technician said it was a screen problem and that it was a factory fault. He also said a replacement part will be gotten in 2 - 4 weeks. Its already 4 months after and Samsung is yet to fix my TV. I bought  the SAMSUNG TV/PLASMA/51/PS51E6500 for N200,000.00 and SAMSUNG/AV/Mini/MX-E8700 for N70,000.00 on the 2nd December 2013.

Let me also add that, it appears the technician in collusion with another senior staff are trying to play a fast one on me by waiting till the warranty period is over, so they can charge me for the repairs. Why do I think so? The technician had told my wife that he had the replacement part to fix the TV, "just to assist us" and that we should not inform Samsung about it, because Samsung plans to either replace the TV out rightly, if they cannot get the replacement part to fix the TV.

I have sent several emails to Samsung Smart Care email address, with no response from them. This is the same email, they contacted me 3 times and even called me to apologize for the faulty TV and DVD. Suddenly, they have stopped responding to my emails.

Please, I want you to use your blog to expose those behind this injustice and criminality. Because I am certain Samsung is not aware of this shoddy deals perpetuated by its staff. Thank you for the good work you have been doing.

Sincerely,

Marius Idemudia

Should She Help Her Man Pay Her Brideprice?

I heard this story from a friend who knows someone who knows someone it is happening to. Lol

The guy is a serving corp member while the lady is a nurse, but they have been dating since their university days. The girls family want her to marry a certain suitor who is well connected with the Plateau state government, but the lady has eyes only for her corp member boyfriend.

Now, the family says they will only accept the guy is serious if he comes and married their daughter before his service year is over, so the guy went with his family to collect the list. The problem is the figure of the things on the list is like 'binary numbers'. Lol

The lady is earning a reasonable salary because she works in a big private hospital in town and she is contemplating helping the guy pay for some of the things on the list since is he is still unemployed and his 19k NYSC allowee will not even scratch the surface of the wedding preparations.

What do you think they should do?

Mysterious Corpse-Filled 'Ghost Ships' Found Drifting Off Japan

Nearly a dozen wooden boats carrying decomposing bodies have been found in the waters off the coast of Japan over the past two months.

Inside the 11 vessels were at least 25 bodies, according to Japanese broadcaster NHK. Two bodies were headless, and one boat contained six skulls, Singapore's Straits Times newspaper reported, citing the Japanese Coast Guard. The poor condition of the remains suggested that the boats had been adrift for some time, the paper said.

One of the boats had a tattered banner that looked like it could have been part of a North Korean flag. The boat also had a board with Hangul words that said "Korean People's Army," which is the name of the armed forces in North Korea.

A maritime expert said the ships looked like those used by defectors from North Korea.

"They are made of wood and are old and heavy," Yoshihiko Yamada told NHK. "They can't travel very fast and the engines are not powerful enough to turn the ships against the currents."

At least some of the ships also contained fishing equipment. One ship examined by NHK had fish hooks, netting and lights for attracting squid, leading some to think that the ghost ships may have been fishing vessels that ran into trouble.

But most experts seem to believe the people on the ships were trying to defect.

"I would say that defectors would be the most likely explanation, and the fact that there have been so many cases in such a short space of time is worrying because it suggests there is serious instability just below the surface in North Korea," Jun Okumura, a visiting scholar at the Meiji Institute for Global Affairs, told the Telegraph.

35 Year Old Man Kidnaps Teenager In Lagos and Keeps Her As Sex Slave

But wait o, why didn't the girl raise alarm??

A 35 -year- old man has been arrested by the police and charged before a court for allegedly abducting a teenage girl and keeping her in captivity as a sex slave in Lagos State.

The man, Osita Molokwu, allegedly abducted and kept Ogechi Emmanuel in his house for several days without the knowledge of her parents, and had marathon sexual relations with her while  she was in his house.

The incident happened at 22, Moriamo Adeshina Street , Abaranje in Ikotun area where he resides.

According the police , Molokwu allegedly intended to have sexual intercourse with Ogechi Emmanuel and detained her in his house against her wish .

P .M . NEWS gathered that Ogechi was in Molokwu’s house for several days without her parents knowing her whereabouts.

The girl ’s mother, Christiana Emmanuel, was later informed that Ogechi was in Molokwu’ s house.

And when she went there to take Ogechi home, Molokwu refused.

He reportedly asked Ogechi ’s mother to leave with him and when he was through with her, she would return to her parents’ house .

Angered by his action , Christiana went to Ikotun Police station and reported that Molokwu abducted Ogechi and engaged her in marathon sex against her wish.

The police arrested Molokwu who claimed that he wanted to marry her and as such , he did not abduct and detain her as they claimed .

Ogechi told the police that he detained her and engaged her in sex against her wish.

She did not explain why she did not raise the alarm or escape from his house.

Consequently, Molokwu was charged to court for unlawfully detention for sexual intercourse under the Criminal Code.

When he was brought to Ejigbo Magistrates ’ court to be arraigned , the court did not sit and was returned to the station to be arraigned the following day .

Some Commonly Misused Words That Make Smart People Look Dumb

We're all tempted to use words that we're not too familiar with, but at the end of the day we end up making a mess of it all.

It's the words that we think we're using correctly that wreak the most havoc.

We throw them around in meetings, e-mails and important documents (such as resumes), and they land, like fingernails across a chalkboard, on everyone who has to hear or read them.

Below are some of the most commonly misused words that make smart people look dumb

Accept vs. Except

These two words sound similar but have very different meanings. Accept means to receive something willingly: "His mom accepted his explanation" or "She accepted the gift graciously." Except signifies exclusion: "I can attend every meeting except the one next week."

To help you remember, note that both except and exclusion begin with ex.

Affect vs. Effect

To make these words even more confusing than they already are, both can be used as either a noun or a verb.

Let's start with the verbs. Affect means to influence something or someone; effect means to accomplish something. "Your job was affected by the organizational restructuring" but "These changes will be effected on Monday."

As a noun, an effect is the result of something: "The sunny weather had a huge effect on sales." It's almost always the right choice because the noun affect refers to an emotional state and is rarely used outside of psychological circles: "The patient's affect was flat."

Lie vs. Lay

We're all pretty clear on the lie that means an untruth. It's the other usage that trips us up. Lie also means to recline: "Why don't you lie down and rest?" Lay requires an object: "Lay the book on the table." Lie is something you can do by yourself, but you need an object to lay.

It's more confusing in the past tense. The past tense of lie is--you guessed it--lay: "I lay down for an hour last night." And the past tense of lay is laid: "I laid the book on the table."

Bring vs. Take

Bring and take both describe transporting something or someone from one place to another, but the correct usage depends on the speaker's point of view. Somebody brings something to you, but you take it to somewhere else: "Bring me the mail, then take your shoes to your room."

Just remember, if the movement is toward you, use bring; if the movement is away from you, use take.

Ironic vs. Coincidental

A lot of people get this wrong. If you break your leg the day before a ski trip, that's not ironic--it's coincidental (and bad luck).

Ironic has several meanings, all of which include some type of reversal of what was expected. Verbal irony is when a person says one thing but clearly means another. Situational irony is when a result is the opposite of what was expected. O. Henry was a master of situational irony. In "The Gift of the Magi," Jim sells his watch to buy combs for his wife's hair, and she sells her hair to buy a chain for Jim's watch. Each character sold something precious to buy a gift for the other, but those gifts were intended for what the other person sold. That is true irony.

If you break your leg the day before a ski trip, that's coincidental. If you drive up to the mountains to ski, and there was more snow back at your house, that's ironic.

Imply vs. Infer

To imply means to suggest something without saying it outright. To infer means to draw a conclusion from what someone else implies. As a general rule, the speaker/writer implies, and the listener/reader infers.

Nauseous vs. Nauseated

Nauseous has been misused so often that the incorrect usage is accepted in some circles. Still, it's important to note the difference. Nauseous means causing nausea; nauseated means experiencing nausea.

So, if your circle includes ultra-particular grammar sticklers, never say "I'm nauseous" unless you want them to be snickering behind your back.

Comprise vs. Compose

These are two of the most commonly misused words in the English language. Comprise means to include; compose means to make up.

It all comes down to parts versus the whole. When you use comprise, you put the whole first: "A soccer game comprises (includes) two halves." When you use compose, you put the pieces first: "Fifty states compose (make up) the United States of America."

Farther vs. Further

Farther refers to physical distance, while further describes the degree or extent of an action or situation. "I can't run any farther," but "I have nothing further to say."

If you can substitute "more" or "additional," use further.

Fewer vs. Less

Use fewer when you're referring to separate items that can be counted; use less when referring to a whole: "You have fewer dollars, but less money."

Bringing It All Together

English grammar can be tricky, and, a lot of times, the words that sound right are actually wrong.

With words such as those listed above, you just have to memorize the rules so that when you are about to use them, you'll catch yourself in the act and know for certain that you've written or said the right one.

Couple Too Fat To Have Sex To Undergo Weight Loss Surgery So That They Can Have Kids

I'm speechless...

A couple who dream of becoming parents have decided to undergo weight loss surgery - because they're to fat to have sex.

The lovebirds, who have been married since 2010, have a combined weight of 63 stone.

Lin Yue and his wife Deng Yang reveal that married life had been difficult right from the start when, they said, they could not find a wedding dress big enough for the bride and had to have one specially made.

The pair who both work in south-west China’s Sichuan Province this week travelled to Changchun, capital of north-eastern Jilin Province, in order to undergo treatment for rapid weight loss.

They hope gastric bypass surgery will help them in their fight against morbid obesity, which they have now decided to tackle in order to one day have a child .

Deng said the dream of becoming a parent alone was enough for them to want to try to lose weight.

But they said they were inspired to take the step together after reading about a woman known as the heaviest person in China, who last month also underwent a gastric bypass to help her fight obesity.

The couple, who are both 30, describe themselves as being as wide as they are tall.
